This is why a sociologically-influenced perspective presents an advantage over more basic approaches ethics: You get other people to provide you with components of your own morality, which you get to cherry-pick, based on a) what’s effective for your own survival, and b) what’s effective for surviving alongside other people (which naturally also requires that they survive). When the two overlap, it’s a win-win!

    • I don’t think it’s that hard to figure out. If something in this universe talks and stands on two legs, it’s a person. The word doesn’t necessarily refer exclusively to the human race.

      • I think they meant that Ozy is the only other one there. “Other people” eating the popcorn implies someone other than just him.
