I think in this case it’s more that they suspect there are no circumstances under which llewellyn would convict- so, since he would not actually be guided by the evidence, then he would actually make a poor juror. (it’s the same reason why jurors who would never sentence someone to death are struck from capital cases- particularly since the death penalty usually requires a unanimous verdict.)
