Sometimes it seems like the art in these strips is partially fanservice for furries with a hind-paw fetish. I say that on this particular strip because of the ridiculous nature of Millie’s run in the last panel.
I think it’s more amusingly childish, that exaggerated toy-soldier kind of movement. Think Wes Anderson’s movies, Moonrise Kingdom in particular. Exaggeration is sometimes necessary to convey emphasis, and playing off it, doubling-down as it were, is a valid theatrical tool. Here, Millie charging off heroically into the danger of Felicia’s proximity had to be underscored.
