  1. Things like this will make later appearances in other comic strips.
In Skin Horse, By Shaenon Garrity and Jeffrey Wells, on October 25th, 2011:
Dr. Lee: My company sent me here to investigate some rouge robot sightings.
High Abbess: So you did not come here seeking our order.
Dr. Lee: I don’t know WHAT I’m looking for! This mission is the silliest thing I’ve ever heard. So what is this place?
High Abbess: The mountain fastness of an ancient order of Notaries Public.
Dr. Lee: People keep moving my silliness benchmark.
U.N.I.T.Y.: My silliness benchmark is your mom.

By the way, I tried to make the date of the strip up at the top a link to the strip, but I’m not sure if it worked.

  2. Somehow, instead of grating as self-indulgent, it’s so often just plain adorable when cartoonists cartoon for cartooning’s sake. “Plink-plink” indeed.

  3. Ozy, yer anti-zen’s showing. Also, Millicent M. Mudd does not HAVE a silliness threshold. Because she’s NUTS.
    Olé, as it were!
