actually, if you think about it, it’s a better idea than it looks at first. Up until GPS was available, the officers of any ship- and pirate captains were usually either ex merchant captains or ex naval officers- needed to be able to fix their position using a sextant, which needed mathematical ability. Therefore, Locke probably WOULD be better at the test than Millie.
