The brain lights up on fMRI scans for emotional abuse like it does for physical pain. In other words, they take someone in physical pain, scan them in real time, and then scan someone as they are being insulted… and it’s hard to tell.
Welp, that sounds about right.

The lid says “thank you” instead of “trash”. Very polite trash can.
That’s pretty common in my area. I think it is a reference for “Thank you for putting your trash in here instead of on the ground.”
