Yep. I lived in the area for almost 4 years. While the drunks and stoners in Ashland tend to not be very intellectual because of their degrees in partying, many in the Rogue Valley do have great ability to think and exegete. (The Arts and Letters school tended to have people know less after four or more years of inebriation and fornication than freshman did.)
