Simpson is probably one of the most INGENIUOS comic writers that ever existed. Ever.
Humorously enough, this isn’t entirely an original idea. Calvin and Hobbes did a similar joke where Calvin was talking about his Grandpa saying that comic strips nowadays are just a bunch of xeroxed talking heads… in a strip where Calvin and Hobbes are just a bunch of xeroxed talking heads.
