Dragons are only fireproof to a certain extent.
He does tend to be (when not being weird) proper and gentlemanly, not to mention stylish. Presumably he wears the gloves because that is what a gentleman does when baking. Not to mention how stylish they are.
Or, from a purely practical point of view, wearing the gloves provides a visual cue for his mammalian friends and son, warning them that the tray is hot and that they should not attempt to handle it without protection, even though he could.
He doesn’t want to burn anybody when shaking hands with them

He put it down somewhere so he could put on the oven mitts.
Lesse… Llewellyn: large, red skin, horns, spade tail. Breathes fire, sometimes burns things. Hasn’t been called Mephistopheles though.
