  1. Why does “left with greasy hands, a pleasantly full belly, and the lingering taste of mozzarella and onions” actually seem to fit the analogy well? I’m thinking of a politician (not anyone in particular, mind, just the stereotype) being rather oily, pleased and flush with the, er, “campaign contributions” from companies and wealthy donors to get him to do what they want, and (from the public’s perspective) seeming either bland and generic (mozzarella) or a possibly offensive, if common aroma, (garlic).
