    • The “and” replacing a “to”, you mean? I don’t know either.
      Hey, he’s already getting a head start.

    • To my mind, it isn’t a grammatical error, it’s a verbal shorthand — not for “to” since the humiliation is not something he wants to do — rather, he’ll put up with it. The full sentence would be something like, “I’m going down to that show and get myself on air even if I do have to humiliate myself to achieve that.” But he’s already *said* all that in the middle panel! Why repeat himself? And the words inside the balloon are spoken, even though we have to read to “hear” them — rules are laxer for verbal than for written.
